The type of support friends and family can and can not provide:
What activities can ease the pain and restlessness
...or what I want from others:
talk to me
accept me for who I am
reassure me that I am lovable, capable and valuable
if there is something I really want to accomplish... help me get to the next step
tell me that you love me
give me a hug, or two
What actions tend to decrease my personal stability:
trying to fix an emotional based problem with logic
sending me a long list of things that I should do or think about
abandoning me

I took a couple of minutes to look at the list and I'm not sure what your relationship is with the person who sent it and what has gone on in your life but since you asked the readers for an opinion at the end of the list I will say this...Its not a personal attack and its not swearing or hate mail.It seems to come from maybe a parental figure who may mean well but may not understand the situation FULLY.Myself I would do what you did tell the person if they truly want to help WHAT would help you personally For these types of people sometimes it is much easier to send an email or card than it is to take someones hand or offer a shoulder they may not have the emotional capabilities themselves who knows..... Anyway this site is great i find it inspirational.my opinions only an opinion hope iit doesnt offend you.luck and peace=) mao
No offense taken at all. I just try to post things that will help BP suffers and the people who love them.
Not everything will help everyone and some things will, inadvertantly, be disagreed upon. That's cool though. It shows that we are all of free thought, opinion and speech and I welcome that here on Bipolar Storm.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.
