  • Well, I was supposed to go to the pdoc today, but his office called yesterday to reschedule me. They resceduled me all the way to the 24th! Only 4 days short of an entire month since I was last there.

This really messes with me because I am in the routine of seeing him every other week. I'm thinking that maybe that is why I started feeling a little depression sinking in last night.

I'm not really depressed today, just sort of down. Gods, I hope I am not headed for a mixed state again. I'm in those just far too often. Not as often as I used to be though. The med cocktail has really started to work. I just wish that my concentration would get better!

Thanks to Apple, Red and Belinda for commenting on my poem in my last blog. I appreciate the feedback. That poem just came spewing out of me yesterday out of nowhere. I wasn't watching TV or anything. Go figure.

I found a book that I am really wanting super bad. I opened my newspaper today and there was a weekend TV guide insert and on the front of it was an ad for the USA Friday Night Movie which is, "The Stranger Beside Me". Well its a true crime deal and its a book written by Ann Rule and its about Ted Bundy, but in a whole new light. She was following the serial killings and writting about them as they happened and the police notified her and told her it was Ted doing it. She was Ted's friend!!!! Talk about turning someone for a loop! I wish we had the USA channel so I could see the movie tonight, but oh well, you know the books are always better.

So now I am going to be looking for the book. I went to amazon and Ann Rule has written a lot of true crime books. I don't know why I am drawn to them, but I am.

Are you drawn to any certain type of book? If so, do you think it has anything at all to do with you having Bipolar if you have it? I'm drawn to true crime, horror, John Grisham books and things like that.

Well folks, that's all I feel like blogging here for now. Have a good weekend.

    Love to all.

  • Ann Rule is great, I think the ted bundy book was one of her first! I saw a special on Court TV about Ted Bundy, and she talked about she knew him. She also said that she was chilled to realize that you can't see the evil in someone sometimes. I read and watch so much true crime that my husband is nervous about me trying to kill him off. He thinks that I could do it, and get off scott free!! lol, keep the good thoughts in mind, you will do fine... :) (:Kimmie

  • u kno i realized now.. as i look at my collection of books i've gotten over the year or 2.. im really drawn to fantasy.. horror/murder/crime that business.. and bios (i have alotta wrestling bios lol) and i can kinda understand why i like fantasy so much (huge tolkien freak.. lord of the rings *smiles*) when i read the books.. they're soothing.. and i can kinda put myself in the character's world.. make things seem better for me when im down.. they help alot when im not the cheeriest of people.. so it could be associated with bipolar..

  • I saw the movie and read the book both were good but the book was better. I believe ann rule had actually gotten friendly with ted and knew him..before she foudn out he was a suspect..it was a good book but the movie didnt touch on half as much..
I love her books i have read quite a few of them i am drawn to true crime novels and i have no idea why i just like them..

  • SUP wow I bet that book is good.

I am drawn to what kind of books? Hm . . . I am drawn to historical fiction about Native Americans I really like James Alexander Thom and recently read The Red Heart.  I am drawn to reading books dubbed "classics" because I want to be a writer and I"m interested in what makes a book popular and good. I am interested in reading books about bipolar but that's the only connection I have abotu liking books based on having bipolar

  • Hi, my name's Julia, and I'm bipolar too. I really like your site.

That book sounds AWESOME. I'm into all kinds of different books. I like very little science fiction, but some has sort of a philosophy to it, and I LOVE that stuff. Have you ever read Orson Scott Card? It's his kind of writing, I LOVE IT! I also love reading about history, for example the Black Power movement in the 1970's, I just find it so interesting for some reason. I also enjoy reading about real stuff going on right now, like stories from the inner city, or diaries of weird, crazy kids and such. And i like reading poetry. OH and I like morbid stuff, like Edgar Allen Poe, he's great! I'm not sure if this has to do with my being bipolar...

Hehe, I don't even have a TV, so don't worry about not having cable...

    Julia
